About SWOFON
Small-scale Women Farmers Organization in Nigeria (SWOFON) is a coalition of Women Farmers Associations and Groups across Nigeria that emerged from AAN Public Finance in Agriculture project in 2012. The organization has the goal of advocating for and supporting women farmers especially those in rural areas to spur rural village economic development, increase food production through capacity building of smallholder women farmers to demand for their rights and privileges from the duty bearers while serving as vocal and visible pressure group on behalf of small holder women farmers in Nigeria.

SWOFON is working in the following thematic areas

GOVERNANCE
SWOFON is working with the National assembly and other relevant stakeholders to advocate for the inclusion of women in key decisions that that involves policies that affect them.

WOMEN’S RIGHT
Ensuring women are adequately equipped to Economic empowerment through skills acquisition access to and capacity building on best practices in agriculture.

AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY
Working to improve the quality and quantity of agriculture in order to generate revenue that meets the need of small Holder Women Framers and build their resilience.
